Night #5

I realised a few things today.

No. 1:

There is hardly anything to do when ALL the shops are closed. Some people here were caught surprised that none of the shops are opened including McDonalds (it usually opens for 24 hours by the way). When was the last time in Singapore that all the shops and offices were closed? Maybe we should have that just for a day.

No. 2:
Women don't need to queue over here. They are allowed to walk right to the front and they will be attended to. I wonder if the status of women here is that bad.

No. 3:
You can have a telephone line in the house but you aren't suppose to use that for international calls. You will need to subscibe and pay for such service. Hmm... perhaps this is a better way to control overseas call usage.
No. 4:
The long crack in the house (running from the ceiling to the floor) is caused by the movement of the apartment block. It is a newly built block so it is natural that it is still somewhat shifting. (the maintenance guy actually said that!)
No. 5:
Middle East has the skinniest crossiant I have ever seen. I am sure it used the same amount of flour and butter.
